Our freezes the last two nights have killed off at least six of the compost-growing seedlings I planted a few days ago. I guess my efforts to save the seedlings growing in the compost was premature. I have two more Idaho potatoes ready for transplant.
We should be getting a warm-up starting this weekend. Low temperatures should be in the 40s rather than 30s now.
Our winter rain is now TWICE what we got during the monsoon season last year, according to KVOA. I'm already fighting weeds in the backyard, and expect a vicious fight with them all this year. Last year even most of the weeds died in the backyard.
