While watering the backyard I noticed that the apricot and nectarine trees are in bloom. The pear tree is also budding. So is the lilac. New growth is also evident in many of the other shrubs in the front yard, especially the Mexican sage. Real green won't be too far behind now!
This has been a great winter for moisture. It's also been a great winter for the weeds. Some are already in bloom!
Dead are my plum and Chinese fig tree, though. I don't plan on replacing either tree. In fact, I'm not getting ANY new plants this year except for peppers and tomatoes. I have enough stray trees growing in my front yard to please me. The strays are all doing quite well.
